Taiwan Hallmark's
product line of Total Organic Carbon (TOC) analyzers is a networkable family
of modular components that can be custom-combined for on-line measurement of
all TOC concentrations found within high-purity water distribution systems,
from the most demanding ultra-pure rinse applications to the higher organic
content of drinking, reclaim, and wastewaters. Our
family of analyzers provides measuring capability from part-per-trillion
(ppt) through part-per-million (ppm) concentration of organic compounds. The
model A-1000XP TOC Analysis System measures TOC concentrations between 0.020
(20 ppt) to 1.999 parts-per-billion (ppb). The model A-1000 measures
concentrations between 0.05 (50 ppt) and 1999 parts-per-billion (ppb). The
ACCESS 643 measures TOC concentrations between 1 and 1000 parts-per-billion
(ppb), and the model A-2000 between 20 ppb and 1000 parts-per-million (ppm). The
models A-1000, A-1000XP, and ACCESS 643 are similar in that they all use the
same reagentless photocatalytic oxidation technique that determines TOC from
the highly stable measurements of conductivity and temperature. The A-1000XP
provides the highest sensitivity and highest resolution, and is used
primarily in the most demanding ultra-pure semiconductor applications. The
A-1000 is used throughout the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and power
industries. ACCESS 643 incorporates a uniquely versatile sampling system
designed specifically to meet the USP 23 <643>TOC and <645>Conductivity
methods of the pharmaceutical industry. These instruments all utilize the
same controller, printer, and connector block, with similar enclosures for
permanent and portable installations. The
model A-2000 extends the TOC measurement range to the higher concentrations
found in drinking, feed, reclaim, waste, and cleaning effluent for all water
use industries. To accommodate these higher TOC concentrations, the A-2000
utilizes an industry standard wet chemistry and NDIR technology. The supplied
reagents, as well as controller, printer, and connectors are contained within
a splash-proof enclosure. It supports multiple sampling systems that
facilitate laboratory, manual and on-line applications. All
Taiwan Hallmark instruments and components are designed with built-in network
capability on Taiwan Hallmark's proprietary ANET system. The Gateway Interface allows
connection of the network to a computer or printer. Results from all of the
sensors can be printed in three different report formats or sent to a
computer for user-customized data processing. Many
of our customers are concerned about the possible effect that the Year 2000
may have on Taiwan Hallmark's instrumentation, reports, and systems associated with our
products. We have studied the problem and tested our instruments. We have
determined that all Taiwan Hallmark instruments are in compliance with the requirement
for the rollover to the new millenium. The first time stamp on any report in
the Year 2000 will reflect accurately the time, date, and year. When the Year
2000 arrives, the instruments will continue to collect and report data
correctly. All
Software used at Taiwan Hallmark to produce documents, reports, and analysis for
ongoing company business is being evaluated for Year 2000 compliance. We are
evaluating this complex issue with our vendors to ensure that they are also
Year 2000 compliant. We are continuously testing all business computer
software for compliance and implementing new software as necessary. protocol: To
test each instrument and software application, a technician reset the
respective clock for the date December 31, 1999. The instrument was powered
on and operated while the date changed to January 1, 2000. In every case, the
instrument contined to collect TOC date and perform normally. There were no
failures. This functional test shows "Year 2000 compliance" for all
Taiwan Hallmark products.
The
instruments were also tested for leap day compliance. The date February 29,
2000 was entered and dates February 29, 2000 and March 1, 2000 were tested. Download

A-1000 has an excellent reputation and a proven record for TOC monitoring,
and has become the monitoring standard in the semiconductor industry. Its
patented analysis method has led the industry with a low 0.05 ppb TOC
detection limit while completely oxidizing a sample in as little as 2
minutes. The instrument's automatic on-line convenience means no complicated
grab sample protocols and associated sources for contamination, which
provides a lower cost of ownership. Available in both stationary (S-10) and
portable (S-20P) configurations, it is perfect for both permanent-point or
spot check, troubleshooting operation. The
unique technology involves the photocatalytic oxidation of water captured in
the analysis cell. Instead of wet chemistry, the reagentless design uses pure
titanium, in the presence of high-energy ultraviolet (UV) light, to fully
oxidize each sample. Successive samples are processed automatically and the
results can be printed in 3 types of pre-formatted reports. The user-friendly
menu-driven interface displays TOC, resistivity/conductivity, temperature,
trend and sample profile, while continual operation by one intermittent valve
provides low maintenance along with very high reliability.
The
C80 Controller sets parameters and displays sensor data for as many as eight
different ACCESS 643 or A-1000 instruments located throughout your water
distribution and make-up systems. (Desktop case shown is optional). The
model A-1000 S20P Portable TOC Analyzer combines the S10 sensor with the C80
Controller, printer, and carrying handle to make a completely portable unit.
It can be conveniently carried to different sites within a water system for
short-term monitoring applications and to provide hard copy reports of the
results at user-selected intervals. The
A-1000XP version of the A-1000 analyzer uses the same proven technology of
the analysis cell with its patented catalyzed photo-oxidation process. In
addition, the inlet ports have been optimized to eliminate any chance of
contamination during the sample introduction. The ultra-clean inlet system
combined with advanced electronics and enhanced software algorithms have
improved instrument signal detection and allow us to report TOC levels
accurately and reliably to 0.02 (20 ppt), with an unprecedented display
resolution of 0.001 ppb, even when dissolved oxygen levels are less than 5
ppb. This outstanding performance provides maximum sensitivity for detecting
the smallest TOC changes that could be expected in an ultrapure water system. The
A-1000XP is a stand-alone, portable unit that includes the C80 Controller to
maintain the familiar user-interface, and a printer for immediate hard copy
reports. ANET networking capability with all of Taiwan Hallmark's TOC analyzers is
built-in with the standard Taiwan Hallmark I/O connector block. ACCESS
643 stands for Automated Calibration, Conductivity, & Expert System
Suitability and is designed specifically for the pharmaceutical industry to
meet the USP Method <643>for TOC and Method <645>for Conductivity. It's
uniquely designed sample introduction module simplifies the test protocol
required by these methods, while recording the complete documentation
necessary. The
portable model combines the ACCESS 643 sensor with the C80 Controller,
printer, and handle. It can be conveniently carried to different sites within
the water system for short-term monitoring applications and to provide hard
copy reports of the results at user-selected intervals. The
wall mount or stationary version can be strategically located on-line
throughout the water system and linked to Taiwan Hallmark's local area network for
instrument control and data acquisition and display. Taiwan Hallmark's
A-2000 Wide-Range TOC Analyzer is ideal for monitoring feedwater, reclaimed
water, and processed drinking water at TOC concentrations that are typically
in the part-per-million range. Its optional laboratory autosampler fulfills
the Information Collection Rule (ICR) for TOC measurement from multiple
sites, while the same instrument's automatic on-line operation meets the
requirements for continuous TOC measurement under the Disinfectant Byproducts
Rule (DBR). It
also features automatic validation, preprogrammed calibration, and stores up
to 5 replicates for each of 5 standard concentrations, with pre-formatted
Validation and Calibration reports. Calibration can be performed with any
standard calibration material, including sucrose, or KHP. The
A-2000 saves time with automatic calibration and validation, and
pre-formatted report generation from the standard built-in or optional
external printer. The
A-2000 uses the standard method required by the EPA for measurement of TOC in
wastewater. Its wide range, fast analysis, and ability to accommodate most
industrial effluent streams, make it an ideal wastewater analyzer. |
